Devlog Week 9 - Last production week for sprint 2


Hey Yall,

This has been the last week that we were producing assets and developing mechanics for our game. In the following two week we are going to polish the game more and make it shiney!

Art

ManSnow animations:

Our second enemy ManSnow got some neat animations to show off in our game!

Getting hit in the face

Firing a snowball at you!

I'm Meeeeltiiiinggg!

Once defeated by your flashy moves, ManSnow will melt right in front of your eyes!

Level segments and lanes:

We updated the look of our game and it is now looking like this:

We adjusted the colour and texture of the lanes, it changed a lot for the look of the game, besides that the level segments in the background fill up the game a lot more and bring it to a more coherent style.

Small UI update:

As you can see in the screenshot above, the UI has been updated slightly as well. mainly the score got moved up and the multiplier has been moved to the left guage. The bottom bar has also changed, the middle section is now beige instead of red.

Bling! You did a right thing!

For better showing the player that you hit a dance move on the beat, Harmony flashes brightly! We made some neat particle effects to show that to you.

Shiney~!

Development:

The leaderboard is now functional. It is possible to save your score & your name and compare it with all other previous players.

Difficulty:

The game has a difficulty increase now! A lot more enemies appear the longer you play. If you play long enough you'll be greeted by the snow army! Mwahahaha >:D 

This is ofcourse very unfair for the player, this is going to be adressed in the polish sprint soon. (But still expect a difficulty increase to be present)

New enemy ManSnow!

 ManSnow is now functional and he shoots snowballs at you! So you better watch out! Because he'll shoot you!
